“Educating Future Pacific Island Leaders of Tomorrow” was the theme of our first Scholarship Luau held at the Carson High School auditorium, May 15, 2004.

First of all, I would like to acknowledge and honor all our Sponsors and the community who contributed to the success of our first fundraising Luau. On behalf of our recipients and members, we extend to you a big “Fa’amalo and Fa’afetai tele lava – Thank you very much” for your donations and your support. Be it with monetary contributions or food items, the members of Sisters’ Alumni salute you for your love, generosity and continued support of our work.

Close to 400 loyal friends, families and the community showed off their best island attire in support of our luau. It was nice to see a diverse crowd that day of all generations enjoying the music by Tolo Fiso, Lee and the band.

All our luau food and monetary donations were donated by these most generous folks: Aoloau & Muliagatele Porotesano, Bill & Lepeti Fazio of San Francisco, Falana’i & Lisa Ala, Fred & Kathy Schirmer of Seattle-WA, Paul & Naijo Belford, Terrance & Barbara Langford, Sai & Jackie Momoli, Samoan National Nurses Association (SNNA), Mapuifagalele, Inc., and Jim Dear (Mayor of Carson).

The fabulous entertainment was donated by Dennis & Mele Cordy – Hitia O Te Ra Polynesian Dance Group owned by Alex Tekuria, Pacific Islander Leaders Club of Carson, the St. Philomena Samoan Youth, and of course, our fabulous Leilani Metz (Schirmer) of San Diego, a 2004 Sisters’ Alumni recipient.

Special recognition to our loyal and awesome supporters for the use of their facilities – Friendship Children’s Center, Barbard Langford and her gourp, Erin Langford, Lima Tolo, Filemu Fonoimoana, Tony Johnson, and Carson HS teacher, Geno Malau’ulu. Fa’afetai tele lava for all your help. Uncle Hans & Aunty Teri and Melka, thank you always for your generosity to Sisters.

To our corporate Sponsors: BBQ Galore of Irvine, Microsemi of Santa Ana, Bay Area Diesels – Am. Samoa (James & Lillian Ledoux), McDonald’s – Am. Samoa (Agaoleatu Charlie Tautolo), Chiquita Brands International, Danone Waters of North America (Sparkletts) & Sam’s Club (Garden Grove). Thank you, thank you, thank you for your contributions. May our Heavenly Father return in twofold all you have contributed for our students. Fa’amalo le lima foa’i!!
